Green Herring Oz

Green Herring Oz plays high energy, low voltage acoustic folk music influenced by bluegrass, country and blues.

We want to inspire conversations about the things that matter, our relationships, our wellbeing and our connection to nature.

A proud history of community building and advocacy

Supporting the Transition Town movement

In 2014, Irma was one of the founders of Transition Town Mount Hawthorn that later changed to Transition Town Vincent.  The Transition movement is made up of people like you who are already feeling the benefit of connecting with others to take care of themselves, their community and the planet.

In 2020, Lee and Irma from Green Herring Oz founded Greenbushes Acoustic. This is a mental health and wellbeing support group that connects people in and around Greenbushes through acoustic music and poetry.
Fracking is a bad idea! Green Herring has been supporting Frack Free WA and the Knitting Nannas in their campaigns against fracking and in protection of the native forest in WA for many years.

Blog

We do not have a newsletter (yet?). Best way to stay in touch is to check back to this site regularly. We will post our upcoming events here on the home page and as well on our facebook page, if they are public.

Green Herring Oz acknowledges the cultural custodians of the land on which we gather, the Pibulmen-Wadandi people.

We acknowledge and support their continuing  connections to land, waterways and community.

We pay our respect to members of the Aboriginal Communities and their culture; and to their Elders past and present, their descendants still with us today, and those who will follow in their footsteps.
